Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup in Singapore on the 25th of July. Both teams have had varying fortunes so far in their pre-season tour. Bayern have struggled so far losing two games where as Chelsea had beaten Arsenal 3-0 in their first game of the tournament.

Chelsea Expected Lineup against Bayern Munich

Conte is expected to continue with his much favoured 3-4-2-1 (or some would call it a 3-4-3) formation against Bayern. He has confirmed that Morata will play but won’t be starting the game. It’s another chance for Michy Batshuayi to impress the boss and stake a claim to the striker’s spot for the new season. Batshuayi has impressed whenever given the chance but Conte doesn’t seem to fully trust the Belgian yet. An impressive pre-season might force Conte’s hand to play the Belgian ahead of Morata when the season starts.

Conte also indicated that Andreas Christensen will be part of the squad this season. Also with Pedro’s facial injury, Jeremie Boga will have an extended run in the first team and has a great chance to impress. Chelsea has faced a lot of criticism about their youth policy. They have invested heavily in youth and there is an enormous talent in their youth system but so far they have struggled to bring anyone into the first team. It looks like Conte is looking to correct that this season. Also with Champions League this season, Chelsea will require a much bigger squad to compete on all fronts.
