This should not come as a surprise to Arsenal fans as Theo Walcott has succumbed to injury once again on international duty. England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that the Arsenal striker will miss the game against Germany and it is very unlikely that Walcott will be selected for the Euros now. The Arsenal star suffered from a dead leg which kept him out of England training too. But for Arsenal fans, there is not much to worry as Walcott is expected to be declared fit by the time Arsenal’s next games comes around.
England unusually have a surplus number of fit and in form striker this time around and which means someone like Walcott who hasn’t been playing much for his club side has to sit out. Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney are already assured of their Euro berths where as Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott have to fight it out for the final two berths. With Welbeck regularly playing for Arsenal now, Walcott’s only hope was to perform well when given chance for England which is now not possible because of his injury.
