The Guardian has reported that a group of senior Manchester United players have lost faith in Van Gaal’s methods after the shocking Europa League defeat. Although Van Gaal still is generally liked by most of the Manchester United squad this set of influential players in the United dressing room have lost all their trust in Van Gaal’s philosophy and now want Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Ed Woodward continues to procrastinate his work on replacing Van Gaal. Everyone knows now that Van Gaal has crossed the point of no return with the supporters. Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, United supporters wouldn’t want Van Gaal taking charge of the club for one more season. Ed Woodward must act and must act fast as Jose Mourinho is coveted by many of the top clubs in Europe and Manchester United must not miss him this time. Mourinho is the only manager in the market who can challenge Pep Guardiola at the moment. With Guardiola taking over City next season, United desperately need to sign Jose Mourinho to counter this.
