Argentine central defender Ezequiel Garay is set to join his fellow countryman Marcus Rojo at Manchester United according to The Metro . Currently at Zenit, Garay is reportedly not happy in Russia and this will be a perfect deal for both the player and Manchester United as the English side are desperate for a leader in defence. After Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand’s departure,United have lacked a leader in defence and have struggled to maintain clean sheets. Jonny Evans expected to step up has actually regressed quite a bit after Sir Alex Ferguson left United and currently is a big liability for United whenever he plays.
Louis Van Gaal has still not decided on his first choice although Rojo and Jones seem to be the logical choice. Phil Jones is another disappointment as he has not developed as promised although there is still some time for him to prove itself. With Garay, Van Gaal will have a good, solid experienced player at the back to marshal the defence. But there are a number of foreign defender who have struggled in the Premier League. They fail to adapt to the physical nature of the English league and also struggle to come to terms with the pace of the game.
