According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United want to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid and the talks have reached an advanced stage. The player himself is yet to commit to the move but he is seeking reassurances from Real Madrid over his playing time. Ultimately, his decision might depend on who Real Madrid decide to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with as it might impact Bale’s playing time.
Bale certainly grew frustrated under Zinedine Zidane’s management as a combination of injuries and limited playing time hindered his progression. Although, he played a stellar role in the win against Liverpool in the Champions League final, he expressed his displeasure at not starting the game clearly. He clearly stated that he needs to be playing more and at that time it certainly looked like his Real Madrid career was over. But Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus might just convince Bale to stay longer at Real but it will depend a lot on the new manager and the new superstars Real Madrid is planning to sign.
