A report published by the Express claims that Cristiano Ronaldo could finally rejoin Manchester United this summer as Real Madrid are reluctant to offer him better wages similar to Lionel Messi and Neymar. The report which quotes the Spanish outlet Don Balon as the source also claims that Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi expects the transfer to happen and is reportedly aware of his rival’s intentions.
Even if Ronaldo is available this summer, Manchester United might choose to not to sign the Portuguese star due to his advancing age. With the plethora of attackers already available to Jose Mourinho, fitting in Ronaldo will be troublesome. Ronaldo’s best position is either as a striker or as a left sided attacker. United currently have Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford who can play in those positions. Buying Ronaldo at this moment will only create disharmony in the squad and United will be forced to sell some of their stars.
