Defending champions Manchester United face Swansea in the League Cup 5th round tonight. After a disastrous defeat against Huddersfield, Mourinho is bound to make major changes. But with a game against in-form Spurs coming up, Mourinho will be forced to rest some of his first team regulars especially in the center of midfield where injuries have affected the most.

Man United expected lineup against Swansea

Axel Tuanzebe, Scott Mctominay and Luke Shaw are expected to make their first starts of the season. United fans will be especially keen to see Shaw play again as United have struggled in the left back position. Shaw definitely has the talent to break into the first team but looks to be a long away at the moment. Daley Blind who can play a variety of roles has surprisingly been out of favour this season. He might have been a better option at CB than Victor Lindelof who is yet to settle down in the Premier League. Under Van Gaal, Blind was impressive at Center Back and he and Smalling formed a formidable partnership. But with United’s troubles in midfield, Mourinho might deem it essential to rest Herrera and Matic for the weekend so the only other option in United’s squad is the versatile Dutchman.
