Chelsea has finally completed the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid after a protracted saga involving Manchester United and Romelu Lukaku. Now there will be a season long comparison between the performances of the two above mentioned players. It could have easily been different and Morata could have ended up at United and Lukaku might have gone back to Chelsea.

Morata is a different player to Diego Costa and Antonio Conte might have to tweak his system a bit. But it is expected that Conte will stick to his back 3 formation even for the next season. Let’s see how all the new signings, Bakayoko, Rudiger and Morata fit in.

Morata will have very less time to adapt to the rigors of the Premier League as Conte sees him as his main striker and a direct replacement to Diego Costa. This will be Morata’s first season where he is the first choice stiker for a top club and has the manager’s full confidence. His goal scoring record is not great for a striker but he has the ability to improve his numbers and he has the perfect platform to do the same now.
