According to French Newspaper L’Equipe, Barcelona will contact Borussia Dortmund to express their interest in exciting forward Ousmane Dembele. Dembele’s price might be in the range of 80 millions euros which will be a significant dent in Barcelona’s transfer budget. It is unclear on how Valverde plans to fit in Dembele in a forward line which already contains Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Barcelona more urgently require reinforcements in the middle of the park where they are still yet to replace Xavi Hernandez. And more importantly at the moment, it is clear that Iniesta has regressed and can’t play consecutive matches, so Barcelona desperately need to replace him. There has also been talk about Barcelona wanting to resign Gerard Deulofeu. So it seems that Valverde has a completely different priorities in the transfer window compared to the general consensus. Barcelona urgently need to replace their right back, buy a backup CB and reinforce their midfield.
