Manchester United’s title credentials will be tested in their next game against an in-form Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s side have outrun every other side in the Premier League and United can expect heavy and intense pressing when they play at Anfield. United struggled against City, another side who press heavily so Mourinho can change to a 4-3-3 formation, so that he can get the best out of Paul Pogba.
Fellaini also is expected to start as United will be looking to bypass Liverpool’s midfield and go direct. With Liverpool’s front five pressing at every opportunity, the only option for United would be to hit long balls forward for Zlatan and Fellaini. Liverpool’s has not settled yet and Fellaini’s aerial prowess will certainly be a threat. Mkhitaryan is another player who can make a difference because of his ability to “beat the press” but his fitness is an issue. And also Mourinho wouldn’t want to play Mkhitaryan in such a big game as last time against City, the Bundesliga player of the year looked out of sorts.
