Manchester United have submitted a bid for Portuguese Star

Manchester United have made a  €35m bid for Nélson Semedo at Benfica according to Mundo Deportivo. Semedo is a highly rated right back who at 23 years old has his best years ahead of him. Although, Mourinho has put his full trust in Antonio Valencia, United do need a backup incase Valencia gets injured. This will be the second time in the same summer, Manchester United have gone to Benfica to strengthen their defence. Mourinho’s knowledge of the Portuguese League would surely have been a factor in this.

With Ronaldo rumours showing no signs of abating, Manchester United face the risk of distraction. It is still very likely that Ronaldo will stay at Real Madrid and United should know this having been played for a new contract by the likes of Sergio Ramos. Wayne Rooney is another player whose future is in the balance. There has been no news coming out of Rooney’s camp regarding his future which is a bit strange. Even in January there were strong rumours about Rooney being interested in moving to China.
