This news comes completely as a surprise to many as no major outlets were reporting any links between Matic and United. It is also surprising that Antonio Conte has let a rival take his first choice player. Although Chelsea fans will be relieved that the Bakayoko to Chelsea deal is set to be confirmed.
Matic would be perfect for United as they have been missing a strong defensive midfielder since the days of Owen Hargreaves.
