Manchester United starlet Will Keane who came through the United academy is on the verge of ending his United career this summer. It is understood that former United player Steve Bruce currently the manager of Hull City is interested in buying him. Van Gaal brought back Keane on loan back to Old Trafford but the youngster has failed to make any appearances so his career has stagnated.
This news won’t come as any surprise to United fans as they have seen a long list of academy players fail to make it to the first team in recent times. After the success of the class of 92, United’s academy has failed to produce any world class stars who made it big at Manchester United. There have been few notable names with Juventus star Paul Pogba among them but none of them call Old Trafford as their home now. Danny Welbeck, Federico Macheda, Jonny Evans are few players who had broken through to the first team but all of them currently ply their careers away from United. The current first team has the likes of Jesse Lingard, Paddy Mcnair and Borthwick-Jackson but none of them look world class and in the future will move away Manchester United. United fans will be upset by the lack of academy products in the first team and with Manchester City building an world class academy and investing heavily in youth, United are fast being left behind.
