Former Manchester City player Nigel De Jong wants to move to Manchester United under Louis Van Gaal after his contract expires at AC Milan. According to reports De Jong is keen to join up with his ex-national coach Louis Van Gaal at Old Trafford. Although this will not be direct move from City to United,it is sure to make a lot of City fans angry although there won’t be a repeat of the level of hatred which the Carlos Tevez move from United to City generated.
Van Gaal recently mentioned that he is looking for a creative midfielder to sign in the summer although De Jong doesn’t fit that role,he sure will add to the squad. Manchester United definitely need more cover in central midfield if they qualify for Europe. With Michael Carrick getting old and Van Gaal not trusting either Fellaini or Herrera with the defensive midfield position,De Jong will be a good fit.
Manchester United face Swansea this weekend as they seek to consolidate their hold on the third position the English Premier League. Van Gaal’s team has come in for a lot of criticism for their boring style of football but the results so far have been fine.
