Manchester United Eye Double Swoop For 2 Wonderkids

3 minutes

Manchester United’s academy has been at the heart of their success with figures such as Sir Bobby Charlton, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham coming from their illustrious system. In more recent years, the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have been the notable talents to graduate. Erik Ten Hag’s side have had an underwhelming start to the season with defeats against Liverpool and Brighton. But after recent improvements, they are looking to rise up the table.

Tyler Dibbling

The first player the club is said to be interested in is winger Tyler Dibbling from Southampton. The 18-year-old has been a revelation for the Saints as he has managed a goal and two assists this season. His direct running led him to be a handful for the Red Devils Diogo Dalot as he won his side a penalty. This brilliant form would continue as he scored against Ipswich Town with a composed finish. As reported by Give Me Sport, Dibbling has been being linked with a move to Manchester as new sporting director Dan Ashworth is said to have targeted the talent for years.

Therefore, this leads to the question is the move necessary and how will he fit the current squad. Amad Diallo has become a prominent figure of the side this season after brilliant form. Prior to the weekend fixtures, the winger led the Premier League for chances created and progressive runs, which emphasises his talents. In addition, Diallo has been also integral to United’s pressing structure which saw him feature heavily for Ten Hag’s side when they played the 4-2-4. Therefore, with Garnacho also being an option on both wings, is Dibbling the right signing?

Sverre Nypan

The second of the club’s latest targets is Sverre Nypan, who is a 17-year-old wonderkid, who currently plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg. He is a technically-gifted player, who is often deployed in a playmaker role and features in a 4-3-3 system and is strong with both feet. His height is also a key strength considering his age as he is six foot. This allows him to utilise his attacking abilities more often as he ranks high for assists, shots and offensive duels. Furthermore, his progressive runs and line-breaking passes are also seen as a key part of his game as he is constantly looking to create.

As reported by Give Me Sport, he is a target for the Red Devils, but how will he fit the current team? Manchester United currently play with a 4-2-3-1 system and don’t use three midfielders, which could lead to Nypan needing time to adapt. In addition, Kobbie Mainoo is a pivotal part of Ten Hag’s side and will be the key point of the midfield, which could leave Nypan struggling to win gametime as Toby Collyer, Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen are also options.

Conclusion

Overall, the players could be great options for the future, but due to the current’s side quality it may take them time to become prominent players. However, both players are some of the best talents available an will be looking to make moves to a top side in Europe. But with the huge competition for places, maybe a move to a smaller side with less demands and expectations could be necessary in furthering their development.
