Despite losing their previous four matches against Barcelona since the 2009 Champions League final, Manchester United, under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, will head to Camp Nou with confidence for the first leg of the Europa League knockout play-off this week. They are hopeful to secure a result that would help them advance in their pursuit of winning trophies this season. Ten Hag has already led the club to one final and is aiming for more successes in the future.

For the game against Barcelona, Sabitzer and Lisandro Martinez are facing suspensions joining a long list of injured players who are also unavailable for the game. Antony, Scott McTominay, and Anthony Martial are out with minor injuries, along with Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen who have been out of the team for an extended period and will be out for the foreseeable future.

Harry Maguire will have rare opportunity to start back to back games under ten Hag. This might an opportunity for him to prove to his manager that he can be a reliable first choice center back. We also expect Garnacho to replace Jadon Sancho after his goal against Leeds.
