Jesse Lingard is set to leave Manchester United on free because he has not played enough for the team although he was promised that he is central to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans this summer. Also, the contract offer made to Lingard from Manchester United is below his current offer according to ESPN. Lingard was excellent in his loan spell at West Ham last year but has barely featured for United after coming back. He has just played 63 minutes in the Premier League this season and even in those few minutes, scored two goals.

Although many fans and pundits feel that Solskjaer has done a good job building the United squad after taking over from Mourinho, it is far from the truth. The squad is highly unbalanced with a plethora of attackers and not many options in key positions like defensive midfield. He has also alienated several players like Lingard, Van de Beek and Eric Bailly by not offering them enough chances to feature in the first team.
