According to the English outlet, Mirror, Barcelona are ready to make one last offer in order to attempt to bring Manchester City defender Eric Garcia to Camp Nou in January. Garcia whose contract expires next summer has already been subject to transfer interest from Barcelona in the summer but the Catalan club was unable to conclude a deal with City. Although Guardiola claims that Garcia is an integral part of the City squad, Barcelona believe that if they are unable to sign him in January then they will be able to sign him for free in the summer.

Both Barcelona and Manchester City have not had the best starts to the season as Guardiola has struggled with injuries and Koeman has struggled to get the better of Barcelona’s existing structural problems. Guardiola will be hoping that his star players like Aguero return to form and fitness soon as City have encountered a shaky start to the season. For Koeman however, the problems run much deeper with Messi’s future being the biggest distraction as he is free to negotiate with other clubs in January. There are rumours of Messi signing for City in the summer as Spanish outlet AS is reporting that City are already considering making an offer for the Argentine.
