According to the English outlet Express, Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp reached out to Kylian Mbappe’s father to check whether the French player would be interested in moving to Anfield. Mbappe who has been linked with a move away from PSG almost every transfer window since he signed from Monaco is clearly the biggest transfer story this summer. PSG would demand a record fee exceeding the amount they had paid for Neymar but the Coronavirus pandemic could greatly impact the transfer valuations of all the top players. After rapid inflation in transfer fees over the past 5 years, the current situation makes it financially impossible for a lot of top clubs to sustain such spending.

PSG will have a tough summer ahead of them with both Neymar and Mbappe attracting the attention of top clubs around Europe. Even with all the investment, PSG will struggle to hold on to their top stars as the French League’s standard and glamour doesn’t match up to the English, Spanish, or the Italian leagues. It is highly unlikely that either Mbappe or Neymar will be at PSG in the near future unless they are completely priced out of the reach of the other top clubs. But with FFP regulations, it remains to be seen whether PSG can continue to pay their salaries and hold onto them.
