According to a report in The Express, Manchester United already have had contact with Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti. The report which quotes Diario Gol as the source claims that Umtiti has had meetings with United chiefs who want to get a deal done. The biggest worry for Barcelona at the moment is that Umtiti has not signed a new deal meaning that any club could trigger his exit clause for just £52million. If Umtiti leaves this summer because of this exit clause, Barcelona have only themselves to blame having lost Neymar to PSG on the same reason. Speaking of PSG, Diario Gol also claim that the French club too are interested in Samuel Umtiti.
It is clear that unless Umtiti signs a new contract with Barcelona, these rumours will not go away and more and more clubs will attempt to lure him away from Camp Nou. £52 million for a young and proven defender is pretty cheap in this day and age and Barcelona will regret that they set the release clause so low if he leaves.
