Jose Mourinho has approved the transfer of Anthony Martial to Juventus according to The Metro. Martial has had a mixed relationship with Mourinho and has found his first team opportunities limited after the Portuguese manager arrived at Old Trafford. After the signing of Alexis Sanchez, the Frenchman’s first team chances became even rare. Mourinho prefers his wingers to track back and help the full backs in defending which is a role not suited to someone like Martial who is a natural striker. With limited first team opportunities, Martial has struggled to find consistency this season and it seems like it would be better for the Frenchman to move to a different club to fulfill his exciting potential.

Many Premier League clubs including Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested but it is clear that United prefer to sell abroad. Letting such a talented player like Martial go certainly is a risky move especially considering that Mourinho has let talents like Salah, De Bruyne and Lukaku go at Chelsea. United fans will be hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself again.
