Joe Gomez, Liverpool’s defender who can play both in the center and as a full back has been ruled out of the Champions League Final as well as the Fifa World Cup after undergoing an ankle surgery according to The Guardian. Although he might not have been in Klopp’s starting eleven for the Champions League final, his versatility would have proved useful from the bench in case of any injuries.
Before the final, Liverpool have a small matter of playing against Brighton at home to confirm their Champions League participation next season. Anything but a win will give Chelsea to snatch a Champions League berth and Liverpool will have to beat Real Madrid to ensure their participation next season. So the next two games will determine whether Liverpool will have their best season in more than a decade or their worst since Gerrard slipped up against Chelsea to hand Man City the title in 2014.
