After suffering a humiliating defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, Arsenal face Pep Guardiola’s side again in the Premier League on Thursday night. Arsenal need to beat City if they were to retain any hopes of finishing in the top 4 in the Premier League this season. A defeat against City will mean that Arsenal’s only realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League will be to win the Europa League where they have been drawn against the in-form AC Milan.

Arsenal’s predicted lineup against Manchester City

Cech, Kolasinac, Mustafi, Koscielny, Bellerin, Elneny, Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang

Wenger is expected to pick a 4-2-3-1 formation to match up with City’s 4-3-3 formation. Granit Xhaka who had a terrible game in the Carabao Cup final is expected to be dropped for Mohamed Elneny who will add more solidity and defensive nous to Arsenal’s midfield.

Result Prediction

It is difficult to see Arsenal recover from their final defeat but City having almost wrapped up the League are bound to be complacent especially after their cup final win. One can take a punt on an Arsenal win as the odds are bound to be good at Premier League betting.
