According to The Manchester Evening News, United could possibly make a shock move to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. Emre Can has attracted the attention of Italian giants Juventus who were looking to sign him for free in the summer. Can’s contract is running out and the midfielder will be free to talk to clubs and agree on a pre-contract as soon as this transfer window ends. Liverpool might choose to sell him in January but selling to United will certainly not go well with their fans.

Transfer Rumour Reliability

The Manchester Evening News cites the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport as the source for this transfer rumour. Coupled with the fact that there has been no direct transfer from Liverpool to Manchester United or vice-versa for almost half a century now, it is very unlikely that Can will find himself playing at Old Trafford.

But the links between Can and Juventus remain strong as the midfielder looks set to leave Anfield either in January or in the summer unless there is a surprising change of heart and he signs a new contract with Liverpool.
