Antoine Griezmann reportedly prefers staying back in Spain and moving to Barcelona rather than moving to Manchester United. English outlet Metro in their report claim that the Frenchman has reservations over moving to Old Trafford. Griezmann has been the subject of intense speculation over his future for well over a year now. Man United were reportedly the favourites to sign him in the summer. But Atletico’s transfer ban meant that they were unable to sign any replacement so Griezmann decided that he will stay. But recently, Spanish media reports suggest that the Atletico Madrid forward is close to signing for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona have spent massive money in securing the signatures of Dembele and Coutinho. Also, Lionel Messi renewed his contract with a massive new deal. The Catalan club might not be able to compete with United financially over Griezmann’ wages but certainly offer the chance to win more trophies in Spain and in Europe. If Griezmann does sign for Barcelona, then it might be the end of Luis Suarez who is rumoured to be in Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist.
