Manchester United’s teenage prodigy Angel Gomes has evoked interest among the best clubs in Europe, Juventus and Barcelona as the youngster has only one year left on his contract according to Mundo Deportivo. Manchester United fans will remember Paul Pogba’s contract situation when he too was a youngster at the club. Manchester United left it too late and Juventus snapped up Pogba at the end of his contract. Although, the Frenchman is back at the club, United paid a hefty price for their mistake.
Gomes recently spearheaded an amazing comeback against the Arsenal U18s after being 3-0 down. Jose Mourinho already had given some first team exposure to Angel Gomes at the end of last season. The youngster might even get a chance against Burton Albion in the Carabao cup. At the same time, United should ensure that his head doesn’t get turned and sign a contract extension as soon as possible. His path to the first team might not be clear at the moment with United having a big squad but some first team exposure will give him reassurance that only time remains between him and breaking into Manchester United’s senior squad.
