Andreas Pereira has moved to Valencia in a single long loan move which will see him return to the La Liga again after his loan move to Granada last season. Manchester United have extended Pereira’s contract by one year and Mourinho has confirmed that the Brazilian midfielder is in the club’s long term plans. Scott McTominay who impressed in the pre-season has been promoted to the first team squad by Jose Mourinho in place of Pereira.

Although McTominay won’t see much game time, training with the first team squad will do no him no harm. United will be involved in four major competitions this season and Mourinho will be looking to rotate his squad to keep them fresh for the Premier League and the Champions League. Last season, Mourinho had to give up on the league as fixtures piled up with United’s title winning run in the Europa League.

United’s new signings this year have added depth and quality to the squad. Both Matic and Lukaku have slotted in straight to the first team squad where as Victor Lindelof is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League. Selling Matic to United might be Chelsea’s biggest mistake this summer as United have had a perfect start with 10 goals scored and none conceded.
