According to Kicker , Bayern Munich have offered highly rated teenager Renato Sanches to Manchester United for £23m well below the figure paid by Bayern last year. It is still unclear that whether Mourinho is interested in the Portuguese starlet who has struggled to make an impression in Bundesliga. Sanches can play on the wing or as an attacking central midfielder, positions were Manchester United have an abundance of resources.
Manchester United’s squad balance has not been optimal for years now. Central midfield especially defensive midfield was one area where United weren’t able to replace Owen Hargreaves, where as the number 10 position was favoured by a lot of players in the squad. Mourinho has started to address this in the transfer windows.
Andera Herrera’s evolution into a defensive midfielder certainly helped United to negate the squad imbalance. He was an ever present for United last season. With Fabinho rumoured to arrive at Old Trafford, Mourinho will surely be tempted to try out his favoured 4-3-3 formation with a midfield of Pogba-Herrera-Fabinho.
