Jose Mourinho is hoping that he can win his first major trophy as the Manchester United manager today against Southampton in the EFL Cup final. The starting lineup is as expected except for the selection of Marcos Rojo as the left back ahead of Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian. Luke Shaw was anyway out of contention after Mourinho claimed that the former Southampton player needs a lot of hard work to break into the first team.

United fans will be hoping that Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera can dominate the midfield and dictate the proceedings. Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be a big miss for United as the Armenian provides them with pace in central areas. The biggest problem with Ibrahimovic leading the line is his lack of pace which allows teams to press higher up the pitch. With Mkhitaryan in the side, his intelligence and pace pushes the opposition defence deeper. Mourinho with this reasoning has selected Jesse Lingard in midfield.
