Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City at Old Trafford in the Premier League. Although, United created many chances, they were poor in front of the goal.
David De Gea- 3/10
The Spaniard didn’t have much to do most parts of the game but messed up big time for Stoke’s goal. De Gea should have cleanly collected Johnson’s tame shot but pushed the ball weakly and conceded to Joe Allen.
Antonio Valencia- 5/10
Another average performance from Valencia who just can’t get a decent cross into the box. Mourinho needs to buy a new right back as United’s attacks are suffering because Valencia simply doesn’t offer a good attacking threat.
Eric Bailly & Chris Smalling – 6/10
Both the center backs performed well, dealing with Bony’s aerial threat and also Stoke’s midfield runners. Their understanding seems to be growing which bodes well for United.
Daley Blind- 4/10
Daley Blind’s inability to clear a simple high ball cost United 2 points today. Blind, otherwise put in a decent shift at left back but Luke Shaw took take his place back as soon as he is fit.
Ander Herrera – 6/10
Herrera is growing in his new defensive role and put in a decent shift but it remains to be seen how he plays against the big sides.
Paul Pogba – 3/10
Pogba had another woeful performance, except for a first half pass to Zlatan there was nothing he created. He missed three clear cut chances which any Premier League player should have taken, forget the world’s costliest player.
Jesse Lingard – 4/10
Lingard doesn’t offer much except hard running and didn’t do anything of note this game.
Juan Mata – 5/10
Mata was flickered on and off before he was replaced in the second half.
Marcus Rashford – 5/10
There were some bright moments but overall it was a subdued performance from the teenager.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 5/10
Constantly dropped deep and got involved in the build up play. Missed two easy chances which he should have scored. His pressing was non-existent, will be an issue against the big sides.
Substitutes
Anthony Martial -7/10
Immediately provided the killer instinct by a stunning finish as soon as he came one. The only question is that why didn’t he start the game.
Wayne Rooney -5/10
He didn’t anything of note to influence the game.
Memphis Depay – Unrated
