Manchester United central defender Eric Bailly who has started every match so far will miss at least 4 Premier League games in January as his country Ivory Coast has qualified for the AFCON. There is a chance that he might miss a FA Cup and a Europa league fixture too. Mourinho has adequate replacements and doesn’t need to buy anyone in the January market although it remains to be seen how the replacements fare.

Chris Smalling/Daley Blind

Smalling should be back in the first team by then, either replacing Bailly himself or Daley Blind. Even other wise, Smalling is capable enough to fill in stead of Eric Bailly

Phil Jones

This might be Jones’ last season at Old Trafford and his career so far has been a massive dissapointment. January will surely throw him some opportunities and he should grab it with both hands.

Marcos Rojo

Rojo is another Van Gaal signing who has struggled to settle in at Old Trafford. Always prone to making a mistake, Rojo needs to improve drastically in order to start for United regularly.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

TFM was impressive in the limited chances he has had so far with the first team. It’s a great chance for him to learn and develop under Mourinho and he should be ready to grab any chances in the first team and perform solidly.
