Liverpool played their best game of the season against the Champions Leicester, beating them 4-1. Sadio Mane looks like the best signing Liverpool have made after Luis Suarez and Klopp’s project finally looks like it is ready to take off.
Both Can and Lovren are expected to be fit in time for this fixture. Although, Lucas played decently at Center back, he would have been exposed against Chelsea with especially Diego Costa in red hot form. Clyne will have the important task of keeping Hazard quiet where as on the other side, Milner is expected to continue as the left back instead of Alberto Moreno.
Although Liverpool were thrilling against Leicester attacking with pace and guile, their defence remains shaky. These defensive issues have been a constant for a very long time now and successive managers have failed to address this. Klopp knows that there have been many instances when Liverpool have played their worst football immediately after they played some of their best. He needs his team to make a statement against Chelsea. We might be in for an exciting fixture, hopefully on the same level as the Manchester Derby.
