Independent reports that Jose Mourinho is linked with Joe Allen, Liverpool’s Welsh midfielder who had a fantastic Euro 2016. Swansea are reportedly interested in taking Allen back to Wales but if Manchester United are interested, there would be no doubt about which club Allen would choose. Liverpool wouldn’t want to sell the Welsh midfielder to their great rivals at any cost and would like to conclude a deal with Swansea as soon as possible.

If this transfer is successful, then it will be the first direct transfer between Liverpool and Manchester United since 1964, when Phil Chisnall moved to Liverpool from United. This transfer is highly unlikely considering that Allen will end being hated by both the United and the Liverpool supporters and also United already have a bloated squad. Mourinho generally prefers to have a small squad and usually doesn’t prefer rotation too.

Players like Juan Mata, Daley Blind, Memphis Depay and some other are fighting for their Manchester United careers as Jose Mourinho surely will clear out some of them before the transfer window shuts down.
