Manchester United invited 14 year old prodigy Ferhat Cogalan who is currently with Valencia to their training ground for talks regarding his move to Old Trafford according to the Daily Mail. Cogalan plays as an attacking midfielder but could easily move on to become a striker or a winger as he is very young at the moment and has years of development ahead of him.
United have been trying to sign the best young talents in Europe in order to compete with Manchester City and Chelsea’s academies. City especially have made tremendous progress in youth football and now are the number one choice for talented youngsters in Manchester. But as we have seen with Chelsea, lack of opportunities in the first team will always push the young players away from the club. Manchester United on the other hand have a very proud tradition of giving their young players a chance in the first team. Last season has seen the emergence of talents like Rashford and Fosu-Mensah and United fans will hope that this continues under Jose Mourinho too.
