Van Gaal calls up 2 more Man United U-21 players to first team training before Spurs game

Roshaun Williams (17) and James Weir (20) were called upto the first team training on Friday by Louis Van Gaal who is continuing his tradition of bringing in youngsters to the first team. Both of these players generally take part in the U-21 training sessions and it remains to be seen whether either of them will be named in the squad against Tottenham.

Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United captain also took part in the training after coming back from an injury. Ashley Young and Phil Jones are also back in contention for selection after both of them were out injured for a lengthy period.

Van Gaal’s decision to have a small squad so that youngsters could be given more chances has worked out well for Manchester United this season. The likes of Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have impressed when given a chance in the first team and this bodes well for the future. United have a set of good talented young players who if guided properly can become the backbone of this club for many years to come.
