During the international break, Argentine international Marcus Rojo has been pictured smoking a cigarette during a night out. United fans and Van Gaal himself will be highly disappointed with Rojo’s behaviour and it remains to be seen what action Van Gaal takes.
This sort of behaviour especially from a player who is just back from an injury is unacceptable. Rojo should apologise to the fans and the club and also accept any punishment Van Gaal decides upon. Sir Alex would have gone completely berserk with this kind of behaviour and his wrath was infamous among the players. Not many risked to cross the line when Fergie was the manager as there were risking their careers at the club when they break the rules. Ferguson knew when to sell a player and when to put an arm around him. Ryan Giggs was caught a couple of times early in his career for drinking and going out, but Ferguson knew that he was a special talent and with the right attitude, he will be a great player. But with other players like Kanchelskis, Sharpe and more recently Ravel Morrison, Ferguson let them go before they could do more damage.
