Pep Guardiola’s impending arrival at Manchester City might have already rattled many at Manchester United. There were rumours that both United and Chelsea were desperate for Pep to change his mind but City got the man they wanted. Although the announcement was premature and it shows disrespect to man in charge at the moment, Manuel Pelligrini.
Guardiola needs a squad overhaul in many key places especially in midfield with Yaya Toure a spent force. And currently the best midfielder in Europe to replace the Ivorian is Paul Pogba. Pogba has grown immensely as a player since his days at United, he is easily the best box to box midfielder in the world at the moment. Getting Pogba would be the icing on cake City and its fans as Pogba was a former United player. This would signal a bigger power shift than when Tevez moved to City as this means that City actually have more buying power and pull in Europe than United for the first time in the Premier League era. United fans will be dreading the moment when this happens especially if they are still stuck with Van Gaal for next year.

The Guardiola announcement was made by agreement with Pellegrini to bring a halt to speculation and provide MP with a decent opportunity to find a new club. That way he gets full compensation without having to wait out a period of gardening leave and everyone is happy.
