Spanish news outlet Fichajes claim that Jose Mourinho wants to sell Dutch international star Memphis Depay as soon as he takes over at Manchester United. There have been many reports in the media that United and Mourinho have already signed a pre-contract agreement and Mourinho has started preparing for his job at Old Trafford. Depay in his first season has been disappointing with his highly inconsistent and frustrating performances.
Jose Mourinho like his wingers to be efficient,strong and powerful who also put in a defensive shift whenever needed. None of these qualities can be attached to Memphis Depay who is highly talented but his work rate and temperament have been found wanting. United fans would love to see Depay succeed but if Mourinho comes along, they might have to get used to seeing a new number 7 and hope that he turns out to be better than the last three.
Mourinho’s pre-contract entails him a huge amount of money if United fail to appoint him before May 1 and even bigger amount if United don’t sign him before June 1. The majority of fans want Van Gaal gone and if Woodward somehow sticks with the Dutchman for the next season,there will be mutiny at Old Trafford.
