Ed Woodward wants this South American instead of Mourinho as the next Man United Manager

1 minute

Almost every Newspaper has linked Jose Mourinho to the Manchester United job, but so far there has been no indication either from United or from the Portuguese manager that there is a deal in place. United fans have grown frustrated with the football being played under Van Gaal and many of them will revolt if the Dutchman stays for a year longer. Woodward on the other hand according to The Sun, has his sights set on the Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. Many of Woodward’s advisors have praised the Argentine manager especially his ability to build a side from scratch as he has done with Spurs.

The funny part in such a deal would be that Pochettino would have to leave Spurs who will be in the Champions League next season and join United who might not be playing in Europe’s premier competition. It will be very hard for Woodward to prise the Argentine especially when Daniel Levy is involved. It is strange that when Jose Mourinho, easily one of the best managers in the world, is available and ready to take over, Woodward is hell bent on not signing him up. Where as the deals for David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal were signed well before their tenure started.
