Arsenal Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who is on loan at Roma doesn’t want to return to the Emirates so that he can continue playing for the Italian club. Petr Cech now the first choice goalkeeper will be almost impossible to dislodge and Szczesny at this stage of his career can’t carry on being on the bench.

“Will I stay at Roma? For me, football always comes first,’ said Szczesny.

‘I have the confidence of everyone here.

‘When you have the trust of your teammates, the Coach and the fans, as well as playing every Sunday, then that can only be for the best.

‘Obviously it’s not just thanks to me, but everyone who has helped me.’

Arsenal fans will remember the Poland international for his high profile mistakes more than his saves. Wenger put his trust in him and gave him enough chances to cement his position, but Szczesny failed to do so. Everytime when it looked like the Polish goalkeeper was in good form, a mistake was waiting around the corner. Not having a top class goalkeeper for a long time has costed Arsenal a lot and it would be foolish for them to let anybody else take Cech’s spot.
