Jose Mourinho currently is the odds on favorite to replace Van Gaal at Manchester United. United have got their past two managerial appointments wrong but also they have got a lot of transfers wrong. The incoming manager will have to clear out a lot of deadwood before he can bring in his own players. Marcos Rojo
Mourinho hates bad defenders especially center backs. His teams were all built on solid defences and this season’s Chelsea didn’t have one and they collapsed. Rojo was not a good signing by Van Gaal like many others and he will be sold if Mourinho comes in.
Ander Herrera
Herrera is a fan favorite at Old Trafford but the reality is that the Spaniard is at the end of his second season and has done nothing so far of note. He has not been able to convince Van Gaal and secure a first team place in two years.
