Marcos Rojo, the Argentine defender playing for Manchester United has revealed that he would be joining Estudiantes after his current deal with United will expire in 2019. Many South American players feel a strong connect to their boyhood club with Sergio Aguero also revealing recently that he will be moving back to Argentina as soon as his contract is over with Manchester City.
Rojo was speaking in an interview to TycSports and said,
“I miss the club, my family and my friends,”
“I want to return to Estudiantes once I finish my contract in England.”
Rojo who was signed by Van Gaal, has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford and the next season mostly under a new manager will be crucial for his career. Although Rojo sees himself as a central defender,he has been asked to play as a left back many times this season. He has frequent lapses in concentration and this makes it hard for the manager to trust Rojo to plays as a central defender. Nobody at the moment at Old Trafford believes that the Argentine could be a long term partner to Smalling in central defence,it’s upto Rojo to prove all his doubters wrong or else his exit from the club might be sooner than he thinks.
