Man Utd midfielder to miss the rest of the season due to injury

Manchester United midfielder Sean Goss has been ruled out for the rest of the season according to the reserve team coach Warren Joyce. The 20 year old has been in instrumental for Manchester United reserves but has not been able to break through to the first team. Even though Van Gaal has given a lot of chances to youngsters this season, the central midfield position is stocked with first teamers so youngsters like Sean Goss have not got any chances.

“Obviously, Gossy has been out a while now and at a time when he was flying really as well,” Joyce told Man Utd’s official website. “Injuries happen and it’s held his development up really but he’s got to come back and start to pick up the reins from where he was and kick on because he was looking an accomplished player.

“He is the type of player you are looking at in a side as being vital to the way we play. We haven’t quite got the same type of player as him. Obviously, with some of the chances people have been getting in the first team, technically wise, he might have been able to help them out as well.

“The injury is disappointing as he was on the first-team tour and it’s really frustrating for him but sometimes really bad things happen in your career and make you mentally tougher. He’s got to come through and come out the other way – that’s the aim for him.”

Injuries have taken a toll on the first team as well at Manchester United as Van Gaal has struggled at times to name his first team squad. But this also led to the emergence of players like Marcus Rashford who looks like he will turn out to be a great player for Manchester United for years to come.
