Real Madrid expected starting lineup, tactics against Barcelona

Today’s el clasico sees an inform Barcelona visit Real Madrid who are currently trailing the Catalan side in second position. A Barcelona win will give a huge advantage to the Catalans as they will build a 6 point lead in a league which is not known for major upsets.

Benitez has confirmed on Friday that Benzema is fit and will be included in the matchday squad but he has not confirmed that he will start the match. Ronaldo’s form has taken a dip and it is no coincidence that both Ronaldo’s dip in form and Benzema’s injury occurred at the same time.

Sergio Ramos is another player who is battling to be fit for the biggest club match in the world. Ramos had damaged his shoulder against Sevilla but Benitez sounded confident that his captain will play the clasico.

James Rodriguez’s return to fitness should see him start of Casemiro as the Bernabeu crowd won’t take it kindly if Benitez starts with the more defensive minded Casemiro. Benitez and Real don’t seem to be a natural match and only time will tell whether this will be a successful collaboration.
