Manchester United go into this weekend’s fixture against Newcastle after a promising performance against Club Brugge in the Champions League. With Liverpool and City facing tough away fixture,United have a realistic chance of opening up a gap over all of their rivals. Only one expected change from the team which started against Club Brugge is that of Schweinsteiger over Carrick. The German has settled in well at Old Trafford although so far has not produced any moment of brilliance.
United’s defence at the moment is settled,so there would be no changes in the back four and as David De Gea is still not being picked,Sergio Romero is expected to start again. Romero has been solid so far but has not been tested much with United’s excellent back four protecting him well. Wayne Rooney will continue his quest of finding some good form as the United captain has limited competition for his spot. Memphis Depay after announcing his arrival with two brilliant strikes and a wonderful assist will look to continue his form against Newcastle. The Dutchman will definitely not get the time and space in the Premier League as he got on Tuesday but the talent is there underneath the well toned body to set the Premier League on fire as well.
