Manchester United travel to Anfield on Monday night to take on the clear favourites Liverpool. Klopp’s side have started the season well and all indications point to a Liverpool victory at the moment. But Mourinho’s tactics and team selection will determine how this match will play out where as Klopp’s formation and personnel are pretty much confirmed unless injuries intervene.

4-2-3-1 Vs 4-3-3

Mourinho has stuck to his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation till day except for one game in the Europa League. There has been pressure on him to switch to a 4-3-3 so that Pogba can play in his natural position. Because of Liverpool’s strength in the middle, Mourinho should ideally opt for a 4-3-3.

Luke Shaw vs Daley Blind

Although Blind is more comfortable on the ball and has the eye to open up defences, Mourinho should pick Shaw over the dutchman. Shaw’s pace can hurt Liverpool on the counter.

Lingard or Martial

Another straightforward decision, if you ask many United fans. But Mourinho seems to have a soft spot for Lingard so far. Martial is far more effective while attacking but Lingard is more of a team player.
