Manchester United head into this fixture on the back of three consecutive defeats. Lose against Northampton and crisis mode will be activated at Old Trafford. No one imagined things will turn out so bad, so early in the season. Mourinho has completely no idea, what his best team looks like. He urgently needs to make a decision on Wayne Rooney. Rooney has been in poor form for almost three years now and Mourinho finally needs to get rid of him.

Shaw has come in for criticism from Mourinho for performance against Watford, but reports have emerged that Shaw was playing through an injury. Marcos Rojo was poor against Feyenoord, but he should be back in the side against Northampton. United have too many midfield options at the moment and their best passers Carrick and Blind have not got a minute. Even Herrera and Schneiderlin have featured less but Mourinho desperately needs Pogba to find some form and will be hoping that this is the game he comes to life.
