Jose Mourinho is all set to name a number of young players in Manchester United’s next friendly against Dortmund in China. The first friendly against Wigan all but confirmed that Manchester United will be lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation this season. Mourinho in his first spell at Chelsea regularly deployed a 4-3-3 formation to great success, but from his time at Inter, 4-2-3-1 has always been his preferred formation.

Generally Mourinho doesn’t like to experiment around with his formations and prefers that the team lineups in the same formation which ever game they are going to be playing. The friendly against Dortmund will be several levels tougher than the one against Wigan but United have enough quality to win the game.

James Wilson had a bad outing against Wigan and has been dropped from the tour squad, instead Will Keane has traveled along. The emergence of Marcus Rashford has severely affected Wilson’s chances of getting first team football at Manchester United.
