Real Madrid’s star defender Raphael Varane according to the French Le10Sport is keen on joining Manchester United. He believes that a move to the English giants will offer an interesting challenge. One big factor in him wanting move away from Real is the fact that he is behind Pepe and Sergio Ramos at Real. Varane is an accomplished defender who is the first choice for his national team France, so not getting games at the club level will impact his progress. At Real Madrid, Varane was fast-tracked under Mourinho who started Varane in a couple of Clasicos, where the Frenchman was tasked with stopping Messi and he did an outstanding job. So Mourinho moving to United in the summer will be another key factor for Varane.

The current coach Zidane has tried to give Varane as many opportunities as possible. Also Zidane was the one who identified Varane for Real Madrid and convinced them to buy him. Varane has admitted in recent past that he is someones who wants to play every match and that at the moment is simply not possible at Real Madrid. United will certainly love to bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford but will face a battle as Zidane won’t let go of his countryman so easily.
