Ander Herrera recently gave an interview with Marca which has raised a lot of eyebrows with respect to his comments on Mourinho, Wenger and majorly himself. Herrera who is a big fan favorite with the Old Trafford faithful compared the English League with the Spanish League and said that in England managers are offered more time and patience.

When asked regarding Van Gaal’s position as Manchester United manager, Herrera had the following to say,

“Wenger has gone nine years without titles and he’s still there. Manchester City goes three weeks without a win and nobody talks about Pellegrini. So coming to Van Gaal, I think it would not be right as in England the aim is to give confidence.”

Herrera was also questioned about Mourinho’s tactics and style and whether it would suit United. Maybe Herrera was not briefed by his PR team but he replied by saying that Mourinho’s style will perfectly fit with United’s. Although Ander was just answering a question, we can expect a lot of media outlets to take this out of context and spread rumours. Although it seems that Mourinho is very close to the Manchester United job it would be disrespect to Van Gaal if the media questions his players about the future manager. Manchester United visit Chelsea in the Premier League in a bid to qualify for the Champions League next season.
